Instruction/Training at Break Time Billiards in Clemmons NC

I do my training at Break Time Billiard in Clemmons, North Carolina. There are plenty of hotels nearby I suggest the Village Inn and Conference Center. Mostly I take local players. I like to do training on areas that players need to work on. Since I've written books on Aiming, Using Side Spin & Cue Ball Control those sessions can be pretty intense on the training side, so you're going to learn some things from hearing exact descriptions of the learning process, seeing the steps on example handouts and doing the exercises themselves. I have organized lesson plans that I reach into to teach by. If you're a local player doing it a training session at a time, you'll eventually get all of it, but there may be things you don't need. I have you covered whatever you need help with from beginner to advanced skills. Shot making, Cue Ball Control, Banking, Strategy and Side Spin use will get you where you want to be.

Fundamentals, Stance & Stroke

I check your fundamentals as we go. If I see an issue, we work on it right then. If you're making shots and want to get better your fundamentals will come into play and unless you work on them the longer shots will be harder for you. Changes to fundamentals come over time. So, I work you on them and we move on to other things that are more pool skill oriented.

Shot Making-Aiming-What to look for

Many years ago, I found controversy over Aiming online and began searching for the best answers to achieve a high level of shot comprehension that great players use to keep them on track. The Target Ball Concept is what resulted that gets you to a good place in your Shot Making Skill. We will drill parts of the that technique, and others and I'll give you handouts, examples and work with you to incorporate this into and around what you already know how to do, making it work the best it can for you.

Pre-Shot, Stroke & Cue Ball Movement

All of these areas are connected, and I show you how so. Before you leave, you'll understand how to connect your feel to the shot making process that happens after the pre-shot appraisal and shot stroke routine. The Cue Ball skills are also connected, and we go through those in drill and in game applications. Developing your feel for the game is one of the most important parts of your training.

Banking, Cue Ball Moving & Awareness

We work using the disciplines/games of Pool in ways that the skills make sense to you. If you aren't a One Pocket Player now you might be by the time you leave, because once you see how much that game demands you to Control your Cue ball on shots and after banks, you may be hooked for life. All great players play that game because they have more than just a 9-ball or 8-ball stroke and learning to use all speeds of Cue Ball to win games is the cornerstone of making a lot of progress. If you want, we can do a One Pocket Clinic along with the rest of the program.
