A Pool Blessing
May your cloth be new which makes you grin, May your shots and banks all go in. May good things happen when getting rolls, May the opponents cue ball find the holes. May your safeties all be played lock tight, May you not have to play so late at night, May you rest knowing how well you played today, May your bar tabs all be kept at bay, May you be the object of player envy, May you have the feel from the land of plenty, May it be said, you play all games well and when it comes to out, you never sell. May your daydreams be of crisp hit balls on a clean background, in great pool halls, with music low and food delicious, getting jelly rolls, and all your wishes. Robin Kelly 11/23/2023 One Last Set Let me make it to the Pool Room, just one more day before I take wings and fly away To the land of never ending song the best room to where departed friends have gone. To be with them again would be sublime, but let me go, just one more time, To seek the friends that I have now, and to play again like I know how. Let shots go in like butter and banks to the center, one after another Let me win just one more set, then bid farewell to my family and friends. Down at the hall I've made my home Where they come and go and my friends do roam Then drink to me, one last round and I'll see you in another town. Me I I grew up in the 70's a time in Pool when Pro Players were looked up to and Pool was popular. My experiences with Pool had me reaching a point where I had to decide to continue playing or concentrate on a career. I chose the career.
When I had time, I came back. I love Pool and have a lot to pass on. I've focused on making Aiming and Shot Making easier since 2005. I added in Side Spin as I expect a lot from an Aiming Convention. What good is it, if you're totally uncomfortable with Side Spin? I've also focused on Banking and Speed Control. You'll find worthwhile seasoned material in my books. I began my banking material by working on the Pass Over and Back Cut Banking first. **I have the only book that I know of that deals with Side Spin offering an allowance formula for speed and distance that led the way to a more simple technique that is user friendly.** When you know how you do what you do, then you can do it when you need to. This is what I want you as a player to experience. My ebook series has been expanding into print in both black and white and color and will be expanding into other important areas that you might be interested in later on, so stay in touch. I back my techniques up by offering to play with my customers that don't mind traveling to my area. You pay for the expenses and that's it. There isn't a better deal out there for what you'll get. You'll get accurate assessment and I'll show how to fix anything that's holding you back. I'll also throw in some banking and speed control in a way that you'll get it. I live in the Winston Salem NC area. Contact me via email with your phone number. |

Thanks to the following:
I owe thanks to Dr. Dave Alciatore Phd. His instructional videos gave my idea the starting point for the Reverse Engineering of Side Spin into an application formula for players that can be used during normal play. I appreciate his comments that went into the development of my material. Also to my friend Tom Simpson who created The National Billiard Academy. Tom passed in 2016. I thank him for reading, providing feedback and making suggestions during the development phase. I want to give credit to Alfred "Smitty" Smith "rip" who found me in pool room in 1983 and took me around and showed me that I wasn't the biggest fish in the pond. I also want to thank Frank Tullos for showing me exactly what it was that I didn't know. I want to thank my road partner and partner in crime Anthony Arney who has been referred to as "the ring game king" in North Carolina for being my friend, sharing a lot of long sets and philosophical life and pool discussions up and down the road going somewhere for something Pool related. I also want to thank Paul Sherman for taking the time to show me some of the finer skills of One Pocket and whose consulting and opinion saved me a lot of money. I also want to thank Matt Carter of Sterling Gaming for putting up with my phone calls to try and figure out ways to promote pool. I owe thanks to many others who I've spent time talking to including Shari Stauch, Mark Griffin, Ozzy Reynolds, Glenn Hancock, Carl Semmes, Pat Fleming, Tom Wirth and the list goes on. I want to thank my publisher at Gatekeeper Press for the great job they do. Lastly I thank the Pool Gods who let me go for a career choice but who accepted me back because I had something I wanted to say before it was my time. I thank my family for being patient and understanding as I was completely wrapped up in Pool these last few years this has included my book material, my long sets of One Pocket and pool room investor. I've put them through everything I went through. Its an ongoing journey that starts once you get the Chalk dust on you. There's something Magical in that Chalk dust. |
